I Was Born in the Wrong Generation

This project was created during a 1.5-month artistic residency in Bari and Barletta, Italy. In response to an invitation to explore the theme of rebellion through the lens of fashion, traditional craftsmanship, and 3D printing, I created two garments that combine traditional techniques, such as macramé, with the modernity of 3D printing.

These works redefine rebellion as a conscious return to nature, tradition, and harmony with the surrounding world, telling the story of craftsmanship that has survived for centuries and technology that is reshaping our reality today.

The title of the project, borrowed from meme culture, plays with nostalgia on one hand and expresses a longing for the harmony we have long lost on the other. The introduction of mystical and magical elements into the designs is a form of resistance to the contemporary obsession with rationalism, which tries to analyze the world while stripping it of its elusive essence. The rebellion I propose is quiet, full of gratitude, and focused on returning to values such as respect for the earth, reducing consumption, and a deeper connection with nature.
