Above, you can watch a teaser for an upcoming 20-minute animated short film. “Sewa Seling” is a Kurdish folktale about three brothers and a magical three-legged horse capable of crossing the world in three leaps. Set in a landscape of deserts, mountains, and underground realms, the story is inhabited by devs, mythical creatures, and impossible challenges. What makes the tale remarkable is not only its imagery but its logic: the extraordinary is treated as ordinary, courage is rarely enough on its own, and the answers to impossible problems often come from unexpected places.
My Role
I was commissioned to create this teaser for presentation at the CEE Animation Forum, where it served as a proof of concept for pitching the animated short film.
Over the course of six weeks, I was responsible for the project’s visual development from start to finish. I designed all characters and backgrounds, developed the overall art direction, planned the shots, animated the film in Moho Animation Software, and completed the compositing and editing. The teaser establishes the visual identity, tone and storytelling approach of the planned 20-minute film.
The narration was performed by Michał Bogdanowicz, whose voice helps introduce the world and atmosphere of the story.
